Hand blown Euro tea kettle. Teapots have a real artistic, historic and ethnic value throughout the world. Teapots have become great gift items. The first tea pot was developed in China in the sixteenth Century. The Japanese enjoyed various teas, including green tea. By the 18th Century the teapots made at Yixing, China, were being made in forms which had symbolic meanings, for example, peach shape for long life and good fortune, pomegranate for numerous, sound kids.

Early teapots, when brought to Europe, inspired potters to produce new variations of tea kettle culture. England, being more keen on tea drinking than the remainder of Europe, made the tea kettle their own specialism.

Now, tea drinking is making a resurgence in the U.S.A.. Some suppose Americans are switching over from "happy hour" to "tea time." Excessive social drinking is increasingly frowned upon and, with executives facing shrinking expense accounts, the "power lunch" is being substituted by the "power tea." Herbal teas popularized during the 1960s are also earning acceptance as other people try to refrain from caffeine.

Today we savor an assortment of healthy teas. Many specialized "healthy" teas are now available. Many of these are decaffeinated and organic versions of the respective tea types. A choice of tea varieties is perfect for afternoon tea or a simple tea party.
