Hand
made Euro teapot. Tea kettles have a
real artistic, historic and ethnic value throughout
the world. Teapots have become great gift items. The
first tea pot originated in China in the sixteenth Century.
The Japanese drank assorted teas, including green tea.
By the 18th Century the teapots made at Yixing, China,
were being made in shapes which had symbolic meanings,
for example, peach shape for extended life and good fortune,
pomegranate for many, healthy kids.
Early
teapots, when imported to Europe, prompted
potters to develop new variations of teapot culture.
Great Britain, being more keen on tea drinking than the rest
of Europe, made the tea kettle their own specialism.
Now,
tea drinking is making a resurgence in the U.S.
Some say Americans are switching over from "happy hour"
to "tea time." Excessive social drinking is
increasingly frowned upon and, with executives facing
shrinking expense accounts, the "power lunch"
is being replaced by the "power tea." Herbal
teas popularized during the 60s are also realising
acceptance as additional people try to stay away from caffeine.
Today
we love an potpourri of herbal healthy teas.
Many specialized "healthy" teas are now available.
Many of these are decaffeinated and organic versions
of the respective tea types. A choice of tea varieties
is ideal for afternoon tea or a simple tea party.
Research
with green tea in animals has shown it can reduce arthritis.
Green tea, already lauded for its cancer fighting ability,
may also protect against certain autoimmune diseases,
new research indicates. Green teas subdue the expression
of antigens made by the body, substances that can actuate
an immune response. EGCG, a substance found in green
tea is known to suppress inflammation.

Recipe: Turkey Cranberry Relish ScoopsRecipe Description: This refreshing relish came about when my sister made a wonderful gelatin salad for dessert on Thanksgiving. Cranberry is a favorite flavor for both of us, but this dessert was more refreshing and flavorful than any cranberry combination I\'d had before. A few changes later, these traditional ingredients have a new life in these festive bites for any holiday party.
