Hand
made European teapot. Tea pots have a
real artistic, historical and cultural value all over
the world. Teapots have become great gift items. The
1st teapot was developed in China in the 16th Century.
The Japanese enjoyed assorted teas, including green tea.
By the 18th Century the teapots made at Yixing, China,
were being made in forms which had symbolic significations,
for example, peach shape for extended life and good luck,
pomegranate for many, hardy children.
Early
teapots, when brought to Europe, prompted
potters to respond with new variations of teapot culture.
Britain, being more keen on tea drinking than the remainder
of Europe, made the tea pot their own forte.
Currently,
tea drinking is making a comeback in the United States.
Some suppose Americans are switching from "happy hour"
to "tea time." Excessive social drinking is
increasingly frowned upon and, with executives facing
shrinking expense budgets, the "power lunch"
is being replaced by the "power tea." Herbal
teas popularized during the 1960s are also earning
acceptance as additional people try to avoid caffeine.
Today
we enjoy an assortment of gourmet teas.
Many specialized "healthy" teas are now available.
Many of these are decaffeinated and organic versions
of the various tea types. A selection of tea varieties
is ideal for afternoon tea or a simple tea party.
Studies
with green tea in animals has shown it can reduce arthritis.
Green tea, already lauded for its cancer fighting ability,
may also protect against certain autoimmune disorders,
new research suggests. Green teas suppress the expression
of antigens made by the body, substances that can actuate
an immune response. EGCG, a substance found in green
tea is known to suppress inflammation.

"Very easy recipe to make, and a wonderful twist to an ordinary perogy. These cheese filled perogies taste great just boiled or fried with a little butter. Eat them with sour cream and you will have a wonderful dinner. You can easily double or triple the recipe and place extras in the freezer."
