Hand
made European tea kettle. Tea pots have a
real artistic, historical and ethnic value all over
the world. Teapots have become great gift items. The
1st teapot was developed in China in the sixteenth Century.
The Japanese drank assorted teas, including green tea.
By the eighteenth Century the teapots made at Yixing, China,
were being produced in forms which had symbolic significances,
for example, peach shape for longer life and good luck,
pomegranate for numerous, hardy children.
Early
teapots, when imported to Europe, prompted
potters to develop new variations of teapot culture.
England, being more keen on tea drinking than the remainder
of Europe, made the tea pot their own forte.
Currently,
tea drinking is making a comeback in the U.S.A..
Some say Americans are switching over from "happy hour"
to "tea time." Excessive social drinking is
increasingly frowned upon and, with executives facing
shrinking expense budgets, the "power lunch"
is being substituted by the "power tea." Herbal
teas popularized during the 60s are also gaining
acceptance as other folks try to avoid caffeine.
Today
we love an potpourri of herbal healthy teas.
Many specialized "healthy" teas are now available.
Many of these are decaffeinated and organic versions
of the respective tea types. A selection of tea varieties
is perfect for tea time or a simple tea party.
Research
with green tea in animals has shown it can repress arthritis.
Green tea, already extolled for its cancer fighting ability,
may also protect against certain autoimmune disorders,
new research suggests. Green teas inhibit the expression
of antigens made by the body, substances that can touch off
an immune response. EGCG, a substance found in green
tea is known to suppress inflammation.

Recipe: Turkey Cranberry Relish ScoopsRecipe Description: This refreshing relish came about when my sister made a wonderful gelatin salad for dessert on Thanksgiving. Cranberry is a favorite flavor for both of us, but this dessert was more refreshing and flavorful than any cranberry combination I\'d had before. A few changes later, these traditional ingredients have a new life in these festive bites for any holiday party.
